End-of-Summer Slow Down
/The end of summer is anything but a "slow-down." As schools ramp back up, vacations come to a close, the first break in the heat sparks a resurgence of energy and, for some of us, an excitement for all that the fall holds. And yet...
The summer may not have been the most relaxing or rejuvenating time either. The eagerness to adventure, travel, and escape may have left you feeling a bit exhausted by the end.
For me, the summer certainly held some amazing experiences... and now that it is coming to a close I am feeling the pressure to get back "on track." Newsletters that I'm barely getting out before the end of the month, emails to return, follow up implementation to the ideas I had while playing in the wilderness... my head starts to spin a little when I start making lists of it all.
One word that keeps coming up in response:
Routine
It's not my favorite word, and yet it can be a resource for me in times of chaos, fatigue, or transition. It can foster a bit of a slowing down and regathering myself after the opening up and out of summertime fun.
And for you, as the summer shows it's first signs of fading, what do you need? Perhaps a moment to sit with the question before rushing into the next task on your to-do list...
